INVEOR line of drive controllers at SPS IPC Drives 2016

At this year’s SPS IPC Drives, 22–24 November 2016 in Nuremberg, KOSTAL Industrie Elektrik GmbH will be focusing on new solutions in the INVEOR line of drive controllers.

Drive technology is often required in environments where the conditions are anything but easy for sensitive electronics. At booth 1-551, KOSTAL will therefore be devoting a special area to new applications for the INVEOR drive controllers in heavy-duty use. The performance parameters of the drive technology vary enormously depending on the application but are always of a very high technical standard, and all share the spotlight at the KOSTAL booth. Thanks to its special properties, the INVEOR is especially suitable for use in these tough conditions and can be ideally integrated in heavy-duty applications.

The concept of the smart connection between the INVEOR drive controller and its application environment is presented and expanded throughout the KOSTAL booth. The various interfaces to which the INVEOR needs to ideally adapt within the application as required by the situation are also explained. These are the communication environment, operate and observe, motor adaptation and the control process.

Customer demand for an ‘invisible’ integration of the drive controller in the drive train prompted the enlargement of the product family of the cold plate variant INVEOR P. This housing-free INVEOR is now available for the entire performance class range, from a motor rating of 0.25 kW to 22 kW.

In addition to the smart technology and remarkable flexibility offered by the INVEOR drive controller, it is also extremely energy-efficient. All three phase devices in the INVEOR family satisfy the highest energy efficiency class IE2 as defined in the ecodesign standard EN 50598.

The communication interface together with the various control environments available on the market and the corresponding fieldbuses links devices with the world of Industry 4.0. The INVEOR is compatible with virtually all common control environments in this respect. The relevant bus system can be selected according to requirements, as the INVEOR supports CANopen, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethercat and SAS and is one of very few drive controllers to also support the Sercos environment. The „operate & observe“, motor adaptation and motor control process areas are also presented.

One special opportunity to make a smart connection yourself in a relaxed atmosphere and to find out more about KOSTAL and its product range is the now traditional „Smart connections.“ evening on 23 November 2016 from 4 p.m. at the KOSTAL booth 551 in Hall 1.
